Whitemon on how he coordinates TSM and builds the game for DPC 2023

Whitemon: “I’m the one coordinating TSM right now”
TSM professional Matthew “Whitemon” Filmon shared some interesting details about the team’s inner workings in his post-match interview at the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit tournament. According to him, he takes the main role in coordinating the actions on the map.
“We have practice matches with teams from South America and Europe. As for pubs, I play on both European and American servers. Everyone in the team can give small instructions, but I do it most often. This is because I’m a support. I try to organize and direct the early game,” Whitemon said.
This approach is not surprising, because supports traditionally take responsibility for controlling the first minutes of the match: they set vision, provide rotations, and help their core players open up as much as possible. Whitemon, apparently, copes with this task perfectly, acting not only as an experienced player, but also as the brains of the team.
As a reminder, the North American Dota Pro Circuit 2023 matches are taking place from January 9 to 29. The eight strongest teams in the region are fighting for an impressive prize pool of $205,000, important DPC points, and two tickets to the upcoming major. In such conditions, the role of good team coordination becomes a key element of success.
Whitemon not only plays his role as a support, but also emphasizes how important each player’s contribution to team chemistry is. His words reveal that beyond the bright highlights and triumphs, there are long hours of work, planning, and searching for common synergy.
