Fly on choosing between a career as a player and a coach in Dota 2

Tal “Fly” Aizik opened up about his thoughts on pursuing a coaching career in Dota, offering insights into his decision-making process and future aspirations.

“TSM approached me with an offer to take on the role of their coach, but I graciously turned it down. The team set off for the tournament in Dubai without me, and I felt it was crucial to take a step back and reflect on what I truly want for my future in the game. Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of avoiding impulsive decisions, particularly when I’m under pressure to respond quickly. During the LAN tournament, as I watched from the sidelines, I came to realize that I’m not quite ready to embrace a coaching role at this point in my career.

It’s true that I could say I missed a significant opportunity, especially considering the immense potential of the team. However, my desire is to keep playing and honing my skills. I am on a continual journey to improve, both as a player and a captain, and I have unwavering faith in my abilities. I believe I can contribute a lot to any team I join, bringing not just my experience but also my passion for the game. Competing at The International is still a dream of mine, and I am determined to work hard to achieve that goal,” Aizik shared in conclusion, reflecting on his path forward and the choices that lie ahead.

Earlier, Fly was at the TSM bootcamp. The team won the DPC regional final for North America.
